US CONGRESSWOMAN CLAIMS EXPLANATION ON DISPARITY OF US MILITARY ASSISTANCE TO ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ 16.02.2004 14:09 US Congresswoman Grace Napolitano addressed US Secretary of State Colin Powell with a written request in view of violation of parity of the military assistance to Armenia and Azerbaijan. As reported by the Armenian Assembly of America, the request has been made on account of the forthcoming budget hearings in the House International Relations Committee. To remind, according to the budget project produced by the Bush administration for fiscal year 2005, the figure of military assistance to Azerbaijan four times exceeds the assistance to be provided to Armenia. In her appeal G. Napolitano inquired whether the disparity in military assistance was a violation of the understanding between the Administration and Congress.
