Karabagh headed by Gibons (Gibton), Major of the British Army. The mission arrived in Karabagh (town of Shushi) on December 1. During 1918 - 1919 Major Monk Meson (MacMozen), Captains Seright, Glaterberg (Clatterberg) and Gouans were involved in the mission. General Shattleword and Colonel Sanders visited Karabagh for several times. The number of the Sepoy Hindus serving in the English troops was increased from 50 to 400. EAST - CAUCASUS MOSLEM REPUBLIC: The Moslem National Council promulgated
the declaration of independence of the Turkish Tatars of East Transcaucasus
on May 27, 1918 in Tiflis. The new state formation was assigned the name
of East Caucasus Moslem Republic. However, shortly thereafter the new
republic was renamed into the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic, as recommended
by the English and Turks, since "no one could refer to a previous
