REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN: The establishment of the Republic of Azerbaijan which existed during 1918-1920 was the first attempt to create new Turkish states through interventions, deportation and extinction of the non-Turkish people. The Republic of Azerbaijan was not recognized by the League of Nations which was aware of these processes. Not only it did not recognize the sovereignty of AzR over Karabagh, but also rejected Azerbaijan's membership in the League in view of the pretension of AzR to the territories out of its factual control. However, in 1921 for the
purpose of expanding the revolution towards the East, the Bolshevik power in Moscow decided to reanimate and implement the Turkish-Mousavatist plan of "Great Azerbaijan" in its "red" coloring. Thus, the idea of establishing a "supranational (international) center" as a bearing point of the Red Revolution in the East was set forth.
