Rostom was the first body guard of Napoleon. When Napoleon entered into Moscow, Rostom requested the Emperor to bypass the Armenian quarter of the town. After the defeat of Napoleon he returned to Tiflis. Participated in the Russian-Persian War, and after the liberation of Karabagh settled in Shushi. He is the author of memoirs which encompass the period from the birth date of Napoleon through 1814. His memoirs were first published in 1866. One of his sons was the plenipotentiary representative of France in Tunis. His grandson Edmond Roustam was a famous French playwright and poet. |
