OUTSTANDING PEOPLE OF KARABAGH
DAVTYAN YEPREM DAVID (YEPREM KHAN) (1868-1912) Born in1868 in Barsum village (Yelizavetpol Province). A civil guardsman. Davtyan was one of the prominent figures of the Iranian revolution (1905-1911). He created the Dashnak party in Iran. In 1909 Davtyan was appointed chief commander of the armed forces of the interim government in Iran and commanded at 60 battles. He received the title of a sardar, i.e., marshal.
DADALOV HOVHANNES MICHAEL (1918 - ) Born in 1918 in Derbent
to a family from Shushi. Major General of medical service. Participated in
the Great Patriotic War. After the war he worked in Germany as a head of the
medical service of the Soviet Army. Later Dadalov headed the Military Medical
Academy in Leningrad. Dadalov is the bearer of five orders and numerous medals.
DANIELYAN HRANT ARAM (1926 - ) - A doctor of Medicine, professor. Born
in 1926 in Mets Shen village of Martakert region. In 1951 Danielyan graduated
from Yerevan Medical institute. During 1957-1974 he worked in the department
of roentgen-radiology of Yerevan Medical Institute. In 1975 Danielyan received
the degree of a doctor of medicine and the title of a professor in 1977. Danielyan
is the author of 110 scientific works.
DANIELYAN RUBEN ISAHAK (1900 ) - A doctor of Agriculture. Born in 1900
in Talish village of Martakert region. In 1926 Danielyan graduated from the
department of agriculture of Tashkent University. He worked at Leningrad Institute
of Agriculture. During the period from 1933 till 1947 he worked as a teacher
at the Institute of Agriculture of Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, he received the
degree of a doctor. During 1948-1958 Danielyan worked at the institute of
technical plants in Echmiadzin. Danielyan is the author of approximately 90
articles on agriculture. He is a bearer of the Red Banner Order and various
medals.
DANIELYAN YEREM IVAN (1901-1943) Born in 1901 in Aranzamin village
of Askeran region (Nagorno Karabagh). A Hero of the Soviet Union, Senior Sergeant
of Guards. Danielyan was one of the heroes in the battle across the Dnepr.
He died in the battlefield in Polesie. For gallantry and heroism demonstrated
in the course of the military operations in the Great Patriotic War, Danielyan
was posthumously awarded with the title of a Hero of the Soviet Union.
DANIELYAN MOUSEGH KARAKHAN (1898-1942) Born in 1898 in Blbyak village
(Martuni region of Nagorno Karabagh). During the Great Patriotic War Danielyan
was the secretary of the regiment political bureau, commander of the regiment,
commissar of the battalion, and later the head of the political sector of
the 294th division. Died in the battlefield.
DANIELYAN SMBAT MELIK (1895-1944) Born on May 4, 1895 in Chardakhlu
village (currently included in Shamhor region of Azerbaijan). During World
War I Danielyan fought in the Caucasus Front. From 1921 he served in the Red
Army. During the Great Patriotic War Danielyan participated as brigade commander
(1942-1944) in the military actions in the Kalinin Front, the defense of Caucasus.
Danielyan was the commander of a division in the 1st Baltic Front. Awarded
with two Red Banner Orders and 1st degree Patriotic War Order posthumously.
